Please read this link before accessing the KA4BNI Echo/IRLP Nodes

 The KA4BNI 145.470 Gleason repeater (100.0 pl) has active nodes on I.R.L.P. Internet Radio Linking Project www.irlp.net, and Echolink www.echolink.org

IRLP Node 4364 - Gleason, TN.

The IRLP system consists of RF links (repeaters and simplex stations) across the country, and the world, that can be linked together by the internet. Each repeater or simplex station on IRLP is given a NODE number when they are configured. Access to the IRLP system follows:

1) Determine which node you wish to link to. Find your link node from the IRLP Node list: www.irlp.net.

2) Using a touchtone (DTMF) microphone key up, ID, and say you are accessing IRLP. Then enter the 4 digit node number associated with the node you wish to link.

3) You will hear a voice saying you are connected to that particular node. You are now linked to the other node and can carry on your conversation. NOTE: Please listen a few seconds before beginning your conversation as there may be traffic already on the linked repeater. Multiple stations can use the linked repeaters in a QSO, but remember the system is "Half Duplex". Also, you may need to key up and wait a couple of seconds before beginning your conversation (to allow the two nodes to linkup).

4) When you are finished using the IRLP link enter " 73" on your keypad. This will release the linked repeater from the Gleason Repeater.

Echolink Node 412564 - Gleason, TN.

Echolink is similar to IRLP except Ham Radio Operators can also connect their computers, as well as repeaters and simplex radios, directly to the network where IRLP only allows RF links (repeaters and simplex radios) to be connected to their network.

To connect to an Echolink node on the 145.470 repeater, you'll first need to know the node number to be connected. Lookup active nodes on the Echolink web page: echolink.org. Then press # + the node number to connect to the Echolink node. The # at the beginning of the Echolink access codes helps my Echolink/IRLP PC distinguish between Echolink and IRLP codes. I use a single PC for access to both systems.

When you're finished with your QSO, enter "73" to exit the link.

Currently Out of Service Echolink Node 472308 - Jackson, TN.

 A new Echolink Node has been placed in Jackson, TN. on 147.580 mhz. simplex with a 131.8 pl tone. The node has good mobile coverage in Madison Co and base station coverage beyond. To connect to the Jackson node simply enter the node you wish to connect to. The system will connect you to your requested node. When finished, enter "73" to disconnect from the node. Note: Please remember this is a simplex link and to listen a few seconds before trying to bring up the node. Someone may be using the node and you cannot hear the local station side of the link.

=============================================================================================================

 When you are visiting other areas of the country, you can access the Gleason repeater by following the above instructions and entering the node number 4364 if you're on an IRLP node and 412564 if you're on an Echolink node. Remember to please be courteous when using someone's node.

VOIP Skywarn / Hurricane Net Operation!!!

During active Atlantic hurricanes that are approaching the US coastline, the 145.470 repeater IRLP node 4364 will be connected to the VOIP Skywarn / Hurricane Net: www.voipwx.net. This will be a one way connection so local repeater traffic will not interfere with the Net operations. The node will only be brought up when the VOIP hurricane net is activated. The VOIP net is normally conducted on the Raleigh Reflector #9219. If you have an Echolink connection you can also monitor this traffic on the "WX-Talk" Conference Server Node #7203.

Please check back later for updates!!!
