Welcome to the KA4BNI A.P.R.S. Page
Amateur Position Reporting System
APRS is an amateur radio mode that uses packet transmissions,
on the 2 meter band (144.390 mhz.), on the H.F.
band (10.150 mhz.), and by satellite to
send the location of objects, such as home stations, mobile stations, portables,
and other moving, and non-moving objects. These objects can be displayed on a
map using various available software. APRS "nodes" or digi's allow
station's locations to
be re-transmitted over long distances.
Please Note, All
KA4BNI APRS Digi's no longer accept the older WIDE, RELAY, TRACE commands. This allows for a much smoother flow of traffic on the system.
If setting up a home station, consider using a WIDE2-2 or WIDE2-1 configuration.
Thank you.
